This a website for ummm… music, and various other randomness, by Daniel Smith. That’s me.
Since there’s several million other people out there who share my name - many of them musicians - you should probably be aware that I have nothing to do with the Danielson Famile, I am not a country singer, I’m not a blues pianist (though wouldn’t mind it if I was), and I don’t sell art supplies.
Am I getting defensive? Probably… 
Anyway, have a look around, theres a bunch of songs (mp3) that I’ve recorded that you can listen to, and I try and put new stuff up quite regularly (You can also listen to music via the little flash player near the top of the page). You can even post comments, so if you’re especially bored, feel free to do so…

Many of the recordings on the site are getting quite old, and in a lot of cases, i’ve either recorded new version sof the songs, or have made significant changes at the mixing/production level. So… I thought it was time i uploaded the newer tracks, even if no-one will really even notice.
There should be new versions of A little further, Doll House, Gone but not forgotten, Lost at sea, Seasons, Every Single Day.
I also randomised the song list to the right, and added links to song lyrics from the music pages… (which is very cool - in a dorky way - even if I do say so myself )

Okay, I’ve been very lazy and not updated this site for while, so I thought I’d remedy that… I haven’t been writing much recently, though I have occasionally spent some time reworking some of my older songs, so here’s one of those.
What was I to do is another that I originally wrote and recorded back in february. I added some more instrumentation, but am still (for now) using the original vocal/guitar recordings - flaws and all

I originally recorded this for FAWM back in february - the lofi-ness was accidental, but sounded kinda cool, so i kept it! The piano is a recent addition. I thought about tinkering further - Bass maybe, or a second guitar track - but decided that less, in this case, is probably much more.

My first ever music release is planned for the end of this month. Thanks to the great people at Going Places Records - a fledgling Swedish music label started by Thomas Denver Jonsson and Emma MÃ¥nsson. GP1, their first release, is a limited run on 7″ vinyl, and will feature myself as well as Swedish artist Bobby Baby.
My two songs are Quite Alright, and Everything You Said, which you can currently listen to on my myspace page.
A final release date is yet to be confirmed, but currently June 30th is planned.
Edit: June 30th has been confirmed as the realease date

At the start of february I decided to enter the annual february album writing month challenge over at fawm.org.
The idea was to write 14 songs in 28 days. Sounded like quite a challenge, but it seems i’ve managed to finish it, and hopefully without any songs that are too embrassingly bad!

Digging around on my hard drive uncovered this. A video of me playing my song “Move Along”. Nothing fancy - just solo guitar… All made too look like it was really old - oh, how i had fun with Windows Movie Maker

My first song is Through with you - which is errr… unsually bouncy
(try to ignore - if you can, they’re pretty irritating - the annoying drums. hehe. I’ll try and fix at some point soon… )

So… a new song. The first for a while that features absolutely no guitar (shock horror). This one’s piano based.
